Zenitel is a world leader in critical communications. The company develops systems for one-way communication in the form of alarm systems and PA, two-way communication where people can talk to each other via intercom, and wireless radio communication.
– The most important thing is that people with our equipment can hear, be heard and be understood. Whether they need to speak to or notify individuals or large groups of people, they should be confident that our systems will do the job. says Global HR Director, Ingrid Glad Bratvold at Zenitel.
SAFETY WHERE MANY ARE GATHERED
The need for critical communication systems is great internationally. Zenitel's products are used to ensure good communication at airports around the world, at schools, oil platforms, train stations and ships, among other things.
– A local example here in Horten is that our systems are used when you are on the Bastøferja and are told to go down to the car deck. In fact, there are more than 30,000 ships sailing the world's oceans with our communication solutions, says Bratvold.
ALL OVER THE WORLD
Although Zenitel has partners in over 70 countries and is a global company, the head office is firmly located in Horten, where the company has been present for over 70 years.
– Horten is a fantastic city with a large and inspiring technology environment. Many cities have a cornerstone company, in Horten we have so many technology companies that together we create a stone wall of cornerstone companies. It is quite unique, says Bratvold.
CLEAR SPEECH
Zenitel's systems filter out all other background noise, so that only the human voice is heard and not all the surrounding noise. This is a critical factor for clear communication, both in times of crisis and when important messages need to be given and received in noisy environments. In the end, it can mean the difference between life and death.
– Good systems for critical communication are vital. I usually tell new employees who start here that; you don't develop communication boxes, you save lives, says Bratvold.
