Welcome to a game con out of the ordinary! Dragons, magic, elves, wizards - and not least Vikings - await you when MidgardCon takes place in Gildehallen.

Join us for an adventure weekend in authentic Viking surroundings with live fire and food service.

Bring your own board games and meet other gaming enthusiasts. We encourage everyone to sit down at the tables and play together for a fantastic gaming weekend in the Guildhall.

MidgardCon is a collaboration between Midgard Viking Center and Horten Spill-kveld and has been organized since 2016.

Midgard Talks

Did you know that Horten is a very special place in Viking history? The Viking Age power elite lived here, and in mid-August today's Viking Age enthusiasts gather at Borre. Then Midgard Vikingsenter invites you to the popular science Viking Age conference Midgard Talks during the Midgardsblot festival. The conference is open to everyone, and we have lured the world's leading researchers on the Viking Age here to share their knowledge and commitment to the Viking Age with us. The program spans four days, but you can choose whether you want to participate in some or all of it - as you do at a festival. The key words are enthusiasm, curiosity, dialogue and debate. Time has been set aside for YOU to ask questions about anything you are curious about. We will visit areas such as archaeology, runes, sagas and how the Viking Age is used today and in popular culture. The program runs from 10 am to 3 pm from Wednesday to Saturday, and each presentation is half an hour long. Dive into the mysteries of the Viking Age at Midgard Talks, and end the day with great concert experiences at the Midgardsblot festival.

All posts are in English. To participate in Midgardsblot you need a festival ticket, but those without a festival ticket can also participate in Midgard Talks.
